How HydroJug is Saving the Environment

One of the reasons HydroJug was founded was to reduce the use of single-use plastics. Back in 2016, our CEO noticed a lot of people carrying around milk jugs full of water so they could drink a gallon a day. However, what you may not know is that milk jugs are not supposed to be used more than once. Hayden saw the problem with this and created HydroJug to solve this problem. HydroJug has offered reusable water bottle for the past 4 years, and now we have new Glass and Stainless Steel options coming out tomorrow. Now our consumers have a larger variety of hydration options to reduce the use of single use plastics.

Finding ways to help the environment has always been a hot topic for many people. However, this topic has been becoming more and more relevant as new studies are coming out from environmentalists around the world. Climates are changing, landfills and oceans are filling with trash, and people are constantly worried about the future impact of humanity’s consumption.

Single-use plastic bottles are made out of plastic #1 otherwise known as polyethylene terephthalate (try to say that 10 times fast!). This plastic contains chemicals that can leak outside of the plastic if the bottle becomes scratched or damaged in any way. The chemical is linked to causing cancer and many other health problems in humans. This is why you should never reuse your disposable water bottles or milk jugs.

On top of that, a lot of single-use plastic breaks down over time into tiny little pieces called microplastics. These tiny pieces of plastic are so small that they are basically untraceable. They can get into everything from the water stream to plants and food sources. Over time, these microplastics build up and contribute to global climate change.

To combat these worrying issues, more and more people are switching over to more sustainable options such as the HydroJug.

All HydroJug bottles are BPA-free which means that no harmful chemicals will be in your water no matter how many times you use your water bottle. Unlike most jugs, the Classic and Pro HydroJugs are made of #2 HDPE and #5 PP plastic which are BPA free and made to be reused over time. The Stainless Steel HydroJug is made from 18/8 grade stainless steel which is rust-resistant so you can use it for years!

We made the Glass and Stainless Steel Jugs to be way more durable than any single-use plastic water bottle could ever be! The Glass HydroJug is made from borosilicate glass which is thermal shock-resistant and it comes with a silicone sleeve for added protection and insulation. Both the Glass and the Stainless Steel are built to withstand whatever life throws at you.

On top of it all, you can also save tons of money. Buying a single bottle of water every day could cost you hundreds of dollars a year. The HydroJug is a one-time purchase that will pay itself back within weeks.

Make sure you check out our new Glass and Stainless Steel options, there is a color and design for everyone. The environmental crisis may seem like an impossible problem to solve but buying reusable water bottles like HydroJug is one way to start making a difference. Since its creation, HydroJug has saved over 1,237,000,000 single-use plastic bottles and that number is going up faster every day.
